Hi Astrid,
2. The "Logged" version creates a log of the operations.
The "notLogged" doesn't.
3. This seems more to be a copy of the installation DVD, more than the actual installation directory. Take a look in C:\Program Files\AutoCAD Map 3D 2009\FDO\bin, which is the default install directory.
4. Seems ok also
5. Seems ok also.
9. You should see the new entry in the list of providers (see a screenshots at
http://geospatialfrance.typepad.com/geospatialfrance/2007/09/fournisseur-fdo.html, and a video at
http://geospatialfrance.typepad.com/geospatialfrance/2008/12/autocad-map-3d-2009-mapguide-et-postgis.html).
Cordialement,
Gwenael

Subject: [fdo-users] AutoCAD Map 3D 2009 and FDO PostGIS Provider 3.3 problems with installation
Hello devs,
I would like to test AutoCAD Map 3d 2009 and FDO for Postgresql.
I followed the instruction at
http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoPostGISNotesHere is what I did:
1. german installation of AutoCAD Map 3D 2009
2. download of the package (Logged FdoPg33L.zip ) at
http://www.geomapgis.com/web/geomap-group/fdo/index.htmlI took the package Logged FdoPg33L.zip but I don't know the difference
between logged and not logged
* Not Logged FdoPg33.zip
* Logged FdoPg33L.zip
3. I copied the tree dlls to:
C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_Map3D_2009_German_Win_32bit\x86\de-DE\Fdo\Program
Files\Root\FDO\bin
This is the FDO directory where I found the other dlls and the providers.xml
4. I added the FeatureProvider to
C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_Map3D_2009_German_Win_32bit\x86\de-DE\Fdo\Program
Files\Root\FDO\bin\providers.xml (I edited the Versions 3.3.0.0)
<FeatureProvider>
<Name>OSGeo.PostGIS.3.3</Name>
<DisplayName>OSGeo FDO Provider for PostGIS</DisplayName>
<Description>FDO Provider for PostGIS</Description>
<IsManaged>False</IsManaged>
<Version>3.3.0.0</Version>
<FeatureDataObjectsVersion>3.3.0.0</FeatureDataObjectsVersion>
<LibraryPath>.\PostGISProvider.dll</LibraryPath>
</FeatureProvider>
5. I installed Postgresql 8.2.5-1 and Postgis 1.3.5-1
6. I added the path to the postgresql bin directory to the PATH variable:
PATH C:\Program
Files\PostgreSQL\8.2\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem
7. I restarted the computer
8. I started AutoCAD Map 3D 2009
9. in the menu you can choose Datei - Mit Daten verbinden (english
translation could be: File - Connect with data)
I expeted that there would be another entry for the FDO PostgreSQL
connection, but there isn't.
Do you have an idea what I made wrong? Is there another location, another
file where I have to make changes?
I found another /fdo/bin-directory where I found some more
OSGeo.FDO.Providers......dlls (like
OSGeo.FDO.Providers.MySQL.Overrides.dll)
C:\Autodesk\AutoCAD_Map3D_2009_German_Win_32bit\x86\Program
Files\Root\FDO\bin
Sorry - I really have no experience with AutoCAD Map3D 2009 and of the FDO
part. But I would like to test the
possibility to edit the PostgreSQL/PostGIS data which is stored in the
PostgreSQL database directly through the fdo connection.
As I read at
*
http://trac.osgeo.org/fdo/wiki/FdoPostGISNotes* or
http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/fdo-users/2008-November/001325.htmlit should generally work with 3.3 fdo PostGIS provider.
Maybe you could help me to manage the problems that I have at the very
beginning.
Thanks in advance
Astrid
