[Audacity-help] (no subject)

I downloaded both versions of audacity for mac and lame lib, audacity tells
me its can't open the mp3 library, and it doesn't recognize the file as lame
lib, yes i have un zipped/ unstuffed the file and i have tried both files,
let me know what i should do, much appreciated,

Have you got the correct LAME library?

You want this if you are on an Intel Mac
http://spaghetticode.org/lame/libmp3lame.dylib.zip

and this is you are on a Power PC
http://spaghetticode.org/lame/LameLib-Carbon-3.91.sit

Then unzip the archive to any location on your computer.
Take note of where the unzipped file is.

Open Audacity and click Edit > Preferences.

    * Go to the 'File Formats' tab.
    * In the bottom of the window there is a section called 'MP3 Export
       Setup'.
    * Click on the "Find Library" button  
    * This will ask you if you want to locate the lame encoder. Click 'yes'.
    * In the dialogue box, go to the folder where you put  
       the unstuffed libmp3lame.dylib (Intel) or LibLame (Power PC)
       file earlier, and select it.
    * Click OK.

Ok , obviously you didn't read my email, because if you had you would
understand that this is not a simple situation and you wouldn't have told me
to download and install the right version of lame lib. In my email i clearly
stated that i had downloaded and installed both versions of Audacity and
lame lib So hopefuilly you have read this email and now understand this  
email and won't send me some standard procedure instalation instructions

What you "clearly stated" was far from clear. We need to know what version
of OS X you actually are on (e.g. 10.4.8), and whether this is an Intel Mac
or a Power PC (or do you have two computers, one an Intel and a Power PC?).

Also there is no need at all to export MP3s from Audacity. You can export
as AIFF and convert them to MP3 in iTunes.

Nor have I as you don't say in what way "its not working". Do you get a
file? Does it play? Do you get an error message?
