Appending to plone domain in non-Product packages

Hi there (probably hannosch),

The short version of this question is this:

I want to translate the "Add My type" / "Edit My type" at the Archetypes base_edit (that picks it from edit_macros) form.

How do I do that?

The longer version:

It looks like the translated type names is expected to be in the "plone" domain. In the old days, one could add an additional po-file with plone domain in the i18n dir of the product. Placeless Translation Service would merge the multiple po files.

However, Placeless Translation Service does not look into the i18n directory of my non-product package.

And I haven't had any luck merging domains with the Zope 3 style translation files (locales/..).

I know about the $INSTANCE/i18n dir, but that's not very handy when you want to distribute a self contained package with custom content types.

So how do a add a few msgstr's to the "plone" domain from a package?

Or maybe the Archetypes templates should be fixed to look into my.custom  domain instead of plone?

/Anton
