First of all, let me start with my sincere apology for today's storm of emails.
Everyone that registered with Marketcetera to download the product was
automatically added to the "marketcetera-users mailing list" - this is
a standard practice among open source projects looking to keep their
community informed and engaged. However, we should have made this
clear to new registrants and also provided everyone with clear
instructions on how to opt out of additional communications.
Nick brought up a great suggestion that we will implement immediately
- we'll update the registration process to add a checkbox and copy
that clarifies how to avoid being added to our user list. We are also
reviewing our use of email communications versus posting on community
forums to make sure we get the balance right between timely and useful
information to our community members and respecting how much email our
community members receive.

Out of respect for other community members, please do not "reply-all"
or send unsubscribe requests directly to the list as this generates
unnecessary traffic for everybody.
Our community is one of the most important resources. Most of our
product development has been user-driven - feedback from you helps us
decide what the priority of the next set of features should be, which
asset classes we should add, and what kinds of unforeseen problems
crop up in the field. One of the great successes of our recent 1.0
launch has been a tremendous spike in new community memberships, and
as we grow and expand and make mistakes like today, we'll learn from
them and get better.
