Hello everyone,
I have just released FBReader Activity version 3. You can download it
from http://dev.laptop.org/~sayamindu/FBReader-3.xo.

This version implements sharing support. This means that choosing the
"My Neighbourhood" option in the activity window will let you share
the ebook you are reading with other XO users who can see you in their
Neighbourhood view.
While implementing sharing, I had to fix a few problems with the file
loading code in the activity, and file open operations should be more
robust/foolproof now.

Unfortunately, this still only works on the OLPC XO OS 8.2.x series.
I'm working on removing the hardcoded hacks from FBReader and
hopefully the next release would work on SOAS, etc.

Thanks,
Sayamindu

We are getting closer to having a larger pool of latin-1 epubs to test
on, from which we can make broader unit tests.  Update on that this
time next week.

I'm recommending this for use on the offline-resources DVD going out
to the OLPCorps teams this summer.

Wow - this is indeed good news :) I am playing around with power
management support in the activity at the moment, and if my
experiments are successful, I'll probably make yet another release
early next week.
Thanks SJ.

Cheers,
Sayamindu

By the way - are the activities going out as a part of a customization
key ? In that case, we may want to ship the newer Read (and I have a
backport of ImageViewer with sharing support lying around as well)

Cheers,
Sayamindu
