Hi all,
Just picking up *again* on the PUG vs ZUG thread we had a while back.
Thought it was interesting to discover the Vancouver Python Zope UG[1]
tonight. So there are PYZ UG in the wild :)
But seriously, I know that Danny Adair put this question to the list[2]
in September last year and when he didn't get a response started NZPUG -
and understandably so. I just thought that (as Danny did mention) there
are a lot of python web frameworks (as well as *lots* of other python
packages/frameworks) outside of zope that require inclusion and what's
more zope (with five and zope3) is becoming more-and-more pythonic and
hence is becoming more inclusive of other python tech (+ devs) rather
than exclusive as has historically been the case.
I s'pose what I'm saying is it would seem a pain to fragment the python
community too much in NZ when we've had this UG around for as long as it
has been (the longest afaict) and would be great to use some of the
existing resources, incl. the nzzug site to continue to promote python
in general in NZ :)
Just my 2c.
