Are there specific projects that students @ yale's Access to Knowledge
program might address around OLPC?  They look for new projects each
year, and we are directly tackling some of these issues in countries
where there aren't many other projects underway.

Short answer: a multitude. But first, link please? I have found the
first three conferences, but nothing for a2k4 in 2009, and no Web site
for the program as a whole. Do you know where the next conference will
be, and when?

Let's see...village electricity and Internet, international
microfinance, software, textbooks, curricula, teacher training,
economics of Free Software, a framework for analyzing obstacles
(corruption, rule of law, lack of resources, terms of trade, lack of
coordination among programs...), recording cultures and
languages...Yup. I would say we have something for anyone who has an
interest.

How about studying the best ways to suggest teachers, schools, students implement OLPC, thus finding more about the best way to integrate laptops and the Internet in the most effective education. Formulating suggested strategies for actual courses. How to provide each student with a personalized course on global knowledge, how to measure success in learning with laptops, how to optimize the time in class and the time at home. Are there specific different types of lessons that the teacher can prepare. What are the best algorithms to figure out which students should work together in groups, when and how. How to best collaborate on projects. How to publish students results on blogs and on the Internet to have the students best showcase and interact with the rest of the world..
