ASTER GDEM 30m quality: comparison to higher resolution DEM

Hi,

I have played around with the new ASTER GDEM 30m to see its quality.

for a comparison to a higher resolution DEM.

It would be great to come up with a method for removing spikes and
craters from these new data perhaps using SRTM. Nice OSGeo task :)
