It's time to vote on your favorite logo!

Anyone can vote for up to 3 logos and logo submitters can vote for their
own logos. For example,

First - #13
Second - #15
Third - #7

Please include all of your votes in a single email reply to this thread
and use the index on the wiki page to denote which entry you are voting
on (1 - 15.)

#7 is my favorite (although I would tighten up the kerning between the P and
A).

#2 is my second pick. Georgi's work is nice, but I don't like the way the
"apache project" is over the circle.

Two late entries (#16 and #17) from Pid have been added.
A requested variation for #13 has been added as #18.

Also, some modifications/clarification on voting -
The current voting will run through 23:59 GMT Thursday, July 9.
Then a "finalist" round of the top 5 logos will start and run through
23:50 GMT Tuesday, July 14.

Cool.  Can I now change my vote?  I now like #18 the best...  :-)

First - #18
Second - #13
Third - #10

Also, is the url a "given" or not?  I noticed that some of the submissions
have the url integrated with the design.  It would be nice to have the url
available for a quick reference, but is that a given wherever the logo is
used or not?

Thanks,
Kevin

Generally, you can change your vote any time before voting ends...
Just update the wiki page.

Yes, you can change your vote on the wiki until 23:59 GMT on July 9th.

My opinion, is that the URL is optional and should not be inferred as
part of any winning logo, given any usage of the logo should include a
link back to our home page.

Hi I wanted to change my vote so I logged into the wiki but can't
change the page as I don't have permission. Is there something I need
to do first.

Thanks

Hi David,

You need to file a CLA [1][2] with Apache then you can be added to the
access control lists for the wiki. I didn't see your name here [3] so I'm
assuming you haven't filed a CLA (not sure this is the most up to date list
though). If you have filed one let me know and I'll see if I can get you
added.

[1] http://www.apache.org/licenses/icla.txt
[2] http://www.apache.org/licenses/
[3] http://people.apache.org/~jim/committers.html

Alternatively just let us know your new vote and we can update the wiki for
you.

Regards

-mike

I, perhaps unsurprisingly, vote:

  #17 first, #16 second & I rather like #18 so that's third.

Cheers!

We've narrowed the field down to 5 logos!

You have until Midnight July 15th to vote via email or editing the wiki
page -

I'd like to vote: 4, 1, 5.

With the greatest of respect and hopefully without causing a
controversy, can I suggest that the differences between 1 and 3 are so
small, that they might as well be considered the same logo - and that
the PMC judges subsequently which variation to use, should it be selected.

I think 4 is sharp and understated which Apache logos always seem to be, so
I think it's in keeping with the Apache style. Also I like Apache feather in
there as well.

I vote #4!

I agree. In many applications of the logo, the details in the "O" of #3 will
be lost.

My vote is #1.
