when isaw this i tagged on just to see how much my sup. and pm were getting paid to screw us all during this last count....  i am hoping the sup is one of the mentioned mngmnt. layoffs.  our office would run just fine without 2 cooks in the kitchen ;-)

If the NALC and the APWU can file a lawsuit against the postal service about the privacy of medical records (no mention of the NRLCA being there on our behalf), why can't something be done about our salaries being out there for the whole world to see ?

I told my station manager  about the salary website, he shrugged, said he did not really make that much, now I call him "71".

I also emailed the linki to my USPS email, and tried to open it from work, and guess what?  It is blocked from USPS computers..hmmmmm

I hate having my privacy invaded, my God, what with all the identity theft going on, you would think someone would have half a brain and stop this.

its public information its totally legal to post it and who cares  time to get over it  nobody is looking at it except other postal workers anyway and its not blocked on our office computer because my supervisor had me show it to him on his work computer  he also pulled up from a usps site where it states the legality of it to show a carrier who was whining about it  i cant remember the exact section he got it from but its been posted on here before

 Your government employees and cash a federal paycheck, your salary is public record.

 The supervisor who walks around the office in the morning with a yardstick measuring mail in my office makes 70,000 a year. Give me a break!

It is blocked in my office.  Perhaps the office where this site is accessible needs to contact thier IT depatment and see what other things are being viewed on company computers.  Boo hoo I do not make 70K, not even close.  I have an H route and get paid according to my evaluation.
I still find this an invasion of privacy.

Need to Know: There have been some inquires as to why the public can get an employees name among other information on the internet. In accordance with Handbook AS 353-Guide to Privacy, the Freedom of Information Act, and Records Management; employee’s name, job title, grade, current salary, duty station and dates of employment is considered public information.

Perhaps that should be changed. I have a sister that is a postal worker, and she has a pycho X-husband. She changed offices while he was in prison for reasons I won't go into. She also moved and changed her phone number. All that and all he has to do is look her up on this site to find out where she works and then sit at that office and follow her home? Don't we have some privacy rights? If something happens to her will the PO be liable?

That was exactly my concern. This is a stalker's best friend. If they want to know how much a certain craft makes, then give them averages. There is no reason why they need names and locations of work. I cannot see what good comes of those two statistics.

My concern was not how much money my sister or I make and that info made public. My gripe is the info about what office someone works at! That scares the hell out of me!
