I am asking everyone to take a moment out of your busy lives and think about the brave soldiers and their families who have suffered needlessly at the hands of a lunatic. How totally insulting that these amazing people so willing to lay their very lives down for their country had to endure such a harrowing rein of terror and death IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY!

God please bring peace to those who died.
God we thank you for those who survived.
And God bless those who threw themselves in harms way,
many taking wounds themselves to bring this deranged person down!

As I write this there is another gunman on the loose in Orlando, Florida that opened fire in a big office building.  I don't understand how this maniac ever became a Major.  Now I'm hearing things about maybe terrorist ties.   How could we let someone like this in our military service.

This is such a messed up story. Ft. Hood of all places, a psychiatrist of all criminals...My thoughts and prayers are with the families. I am happy to hear that the suspect is alive. So many times the suspect either turns the gun on himself or the cops get him...rightfully so, this time he is alive. Maybe just maybe we get answers. The families will get to face him in court...speak during sentencing....my heart breaks for those people. They worry night and day when their loved one joins the service. Wartime is happening and these soldiers don't even leave our country yet they were thrown into a battlefield just the same.     If one isn't safe at Ft Hood...are you safe anywhere?

I was totally shocked when I heard about this. As most of you know my daughter is in the army and could of been there, I guess why this has really hit me hard. She had to go through there when she arrived back from Iraq. When I go to the news and see the face of the service people that we have lost it just makes me ill. Military families all know that when our loved ones go to hostile countries that there might be a chance they won't come back and sometimes it is friendly fire that accounts for that. But, for someone to be so cowardice as to do this is just despicable. Just who the hell does he think he is!!???? He's no better than the rest who have gone to Iraq or Afghanistan, just because he is an officer oh yeah a psychiatrist...give me a freaking break!!!! 13 people have lost their lives because of this no good SOB. He didn't want to go to war...so he brought the war to us. They say it's better to forgive...that my friends should never happen with this lunatic...maybe he will get to analyze himself...doubt it. My heart goes out to the wives, children and yes parents of all involved. This country is a mess right now and I believe we are not done with sort of thing. I hope that the Federal Government does not screw this up and lets this poor excuse of a human being plead insanity...that would just add insult to the victims and their families. Well as you can see this has put me on a soapbox but I will get off it for now. one more thing
GOD BLESS THE USA AND OUR MILITARY, THE ONES THAT FIGHT FOR OUR FREEDOM, NOT THE COWARDS!!!

Lest We Forget

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
    In Flanders fields.
    — Lt.-Col. John McCrae (1872 - 1918)

Freedom isn't free!  I'm proud to know some fine young people servin' our country.  Many thanks to all our soldiers & veterans and their families for all they've given for us to live free in this great country.
