Hello Everyone!
Due to the increase in maitenace costs we are discussing ways to raise money in the fairest way.

It has been suggested to start chariging a teen  (13 - 17 ) rate. for Events If this is approved it would be 1/2 the adult rate. Children 12 & under would still be free.

Please let us know how you feel by:

Hello All

I have looked around... and discovered that almost all of the other venues charge for teens and charge more than 1/2 of the festival fee.  I think that while this might cause some groans it seems very fair and makes good business sense.

I agree - I am all for charging 1/2 rate for the teens.  I think that is completely reasonable.  (of course, most of our teens could get in on work barter....I'll make them haul wood and water until they are blue in the face!!).

Hi Firepanther!
Miss you :)

Does your post imply willingness to be in charge of all teen barters at Events you are at? I hope so!!! Blue faced teenagers are a sign of a good barter IMHO

LOL

I`m glad I`m not on a teenage barter!!! ( For those that do NOT know, I`m 63 ) Me turning blue face would probably mean CPR at my age LOL

The way I figure is that most teens start making their own money by the time they turn 13.My kids have had to learn that if they wanted to attend an event with us that they would have to pay their own way in.I never felt that teens should get into an event free.If there is a feast they eat more than most adults.
You might also consider a family/group rate which still includes pricing for 13+.It may help get more camping groups in for the family festivals and even the 18+ festivals,(just a thought).

mane,
discussing the proposed rate for teens with Angie she proposed possibly offering a discounted rate for single college students also.As we know most students are strapped for cash but would like to attend events and can't because of registration fee plus the cost to get there. This could possibly help increase attendance and making money in volume.
Just a thought,

Tim

*snip*

I think it's a great idea to go ahead and charge for teens to attend Our Haven events.  As was said during the September meeting, "a teen sh!ts as much as any adult and can fill up any of the port-a-jons just as quickly".

While I do not have kids of my own, I think it'll significantly help offset the rising costs of taking care of the jons.  The pricing is more than fair, we know where the costs are going to and there should not be any problems in asking for the additional contribution to offset the costs.

Luv y'all.  Beltaine is too far away and can't get here soon enough.  Plenty of time to do some brewing.

What I have bottled and plenty to share:
Sassafras mead (Boot-rear)
Raspberry-Pomegranate mead
Pomegranate mead
Blackberry-Pear with Damiana mead

What I have bubbling away:
Key-Lime mead
Mulled Apple Cyser mead
Passion Fruit mead
Sweet Cherry mead
