I have started the release process for 2.6-M3; the goal here is to go
over things and make sure we are in a position to offer a release
candidate.

I will send out a list of glitches at the end of the process; and may
ask for a bit of help over the course of the day.

So does this mean a freeze in on for commits?

Some javascript/style in this post has been disabled (why?)
Still proceeding:
- tagged
- deployed to maven
- extensive tests (mvn -Pextensive.tests,interactive.tests install) failed as follows

Tests in error:
  testIdentity(org.geotools.coverage.processing.ResampleTest)
  testCrop(org.geotools.coverage.processing.ResampleTest)
  testStereographic(org.geotools.coverage.processing.ResampleTest)
  testsNad83(org.geotools.coverage.processing.ResampleTest)
  testAffine(org.geotools.coverage.processing.ResampleTest)
  testBandSelectSimple(org.geotools.coverage.processing.BandSelectTest)
  testBandSelect(org.geotools.coverage.processing.BandSelectTest)
  testCrop(org.geotools.coverage.processing.CropTest)
  testCropRotated(org.geotools.coverage.processing.CropTest)

  testNodataFilter(org.geotools.coverage.processing.OperationsTest)
  testGradientMagnitude(org.geotools.coverage.processing.OperationsTest)
  testPiecewise(org.geotools.coverage.grid.ViewsManagerTest)
  testCoriolis(org.geotools.coverage.grid.ViewsManagerTest)
  testSubsampleAverage(org.geotools.coverage.processing.FilteredSubsampleTest)
  testSubsampleAverage(org.geotools.coverage.processing.SubsampleAverageTest)

- I hate updating the readme - it seems I just spend my time removing sections that should be fill in the blank

- had some problems creating the project.zip due to "mvn eclipse:eclipse -DoutputDirectory=bin" producing
bin directories; with no way to clean them all upagain using maven

- had some problems with putting the wrong tag into my pom.xml and had to start again :(

- deploy took [INFO] Total time: 75 minutes 15 seconds

- instructions for creating the assembly kept grabbing unsupported stuff; changed build instructions to

    mvn clean -Dall
    mvn install -DskipTests
    mvn assembly:assembly -DskipTests

- removed open office release instructions and provided link to new SF file manager page

- jira release was fine - Release Notes

- upload to source forge was fine; bin uploaded; project uploading now

THINGS I MISSED:
- extensive tests failed
- javadocs are building now overnight
- building from the project file

Overall our build process is pretty solid; lets go grab a 2.6.0 :-)

No - tagged earlier in the day. Release was made from the tag - you
are good to go.

Release went okay - I completely failed to build javadocs - so if you
have any tips we could sure use the help.

I am not even going to try this - no progress reported on fixing extensive tests.

- I hate updating the readme - it seems I just spend my time removing sections that should be fill in the blank

The README.html is terrible; I have committed a change to trunk; but this really needs a review/rewrite.

- instructions for creating the assembly kept grabbing unsupported stuff; changed build instructions to

    mvn clean -Dall
    mvn install -DskipTests
    mvn assembly:assembly -DskipTests

THINGS I MISSED:

Andrea clued me on on javadoc:assembly being the new coolness - going to try that in a bit.

- building from the project file

No feedback on this one yet.

Overall our build process is pretty solid; lets go grab a 2.6.0 :-)

No assembly:

mvn javadoc:aggregate
