Yes, generally researchers working on accessibility would probably have useful input, and because shortcuts are about workflow as well as accessibility, probably HCI researchers such as Clarisse Sieckenius de Souza: http://www-di.inf.puc-rio.br/~clarisse/english.html who has been doing a formal study of Audacity recently and I think will be giving us some findings. . Should we garner some possible contacts and send an e-mail, or are there forums about these sort of issues where we could invite comments? I'm definitely an amateur here (more than you or David), my only input can be about what I would find useful personally, and what I think "general user" opinions are likely to be. I do think we are somewhat constrained by time to change shortcuts much in the short term, by OS differences, and by what we have now that people are used to (even if some specialist advised us to tear everything up and start again from scratch, would we do it?).
