There are an awful lot of people with audio I/O problems on Mac,
especially:
* almost anyone with Tiger
* almost anyone with a firewire interface
Is there anything they can do about this? Any chance of an update for
1.2.4 to fix some of this? I can't really do much for them, and there's
about 2 users a day at the moment on audacity-help.

Subject: [Audacity-help] Audacity bunk in Tiger

Hi,
I really think you should add, to the known list of problems, that
Audacity, in Tiger (OSX10.4.x) searches through the internal sampling
rates, causing core audio to stop and stay at 48000. This renders
playback impossible (even if you continue to work in 48000, which is
useless when CD media is your end goal). I've removed Audacity from
several machines running OSX 10.4.x because of this problem, and because
of the need to then go through and reset the core audio settings (which
is a pain in the butt). This program does not work as advertised on
Tiger and you should specify that. Additionally, I contacted you about
this when Tiger first came out at the beginning of the year and no
update has been released to deal with the problem. What's going on?
