Hi Edam.
Could you start up audacity, go to Help > Run Benchmark
That should show you the maximum number of tracks that audacity can handle on
your system. It's at least dependable on the amount of memory and the speed of
your processor.
Could you paste the output of that benchmark here?
Audacity still shouldn't crash of course.
