$ lame HERE --decode -t some.mp3 - | lame THERE -q 9 -m s -s 44.1 --bitwidth 16 --unsigned --abr 320 - - | mpg123 -
When "HERE" and "THERE" are both empty or both "-x", I hear noise in encoded mp3. When one of them is "-x" and another one is empty, I hear original audio from "some.mp3".
lame version is 3.97_1, it was built from freebsd ports.
